Quality Air
QADUCT is an energy efficient, pre-insulated duct
system that is completely pre-engineered and easy to
install. It conserves energy by being air-tight and
thermally efficient. It delivers improved indoor air
quality. QADUCT is manufactured using a HDPE (high
density polyethylene) composite material for
durability and light-weight construction, but with a
natural FR (fire and smoke retardant) filler added
to enable it to pass the UL
181 regulations for above-ground ductwork
applications. QADUCT is mold and mildew resistant,
will not rust, will not crack under pressure and is
extremely durable.
QADUCT™ provides an
important environmentally friendly or
Green
alternative for the construction industry. This
product has already been eagerly accepted by the
“Green Building” community.
QADUCT
is on the DOE Road Map
In
the industry roadmap which guides DOE’s R&D activities,
a 50% reduction in duct losses is a critical element for achieving
the goal of a 50% reduction in HVAC annual
energy consumption and
peak electric energy demand in new residential buildings by 2020.
This research project
to develop a leak-free duct system that can be readily installed
within the thermal envelope directly addresses that important industry
goal and EERE’s mission to strengthen America's energy security,
environmental quality, and economic vitality.

through leakage (see

Contractors and engineers require zero leakage.
So we engineered a product that uses a patent connecting technique that
creates a very tight seal. A zero VOC long life rubberized
(EPDM) gasket (which meets
LEED standards)
surrounds joints and reinforces
the connection.

Engineering Sustainability
The engineering attributes of QADUCT™
allow it to be manufactured with up to a 100%
recycled plastic material. Our ducting system by its
design leaves minimal trim waste from construction
which also can be
recycled. At
QADUCT
end-of-life use the material can be recycled
into other plastic products.
